Pack 459 performed an important Good Turn this Veterans Day, participating in a Lee VFW cemetery cleanup to honor the service members who protected our freedoms.

We reminded the Scouts of the significance of their service through the words of President Abraham Lincoln, who called upon citizens to “care for his brother in the field.”

By respectfully retiring the flags and maintaining the grounds, our Scouts demonstrated reverence, a key tenet of the Scout Law. As Scouting founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell taught, “The most worthwhile thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others.”

The Scouts worked diligently and respectfully, bringing that “happiness” and honor to the resting place of our local heroes and their families. We are incredibly proud of their service!
